A Feathered Nest

I thought it was a great idea to post the full pictures of my altered books here so potential buyers had more of an idea of the work they would be purchasing instead of the five pictures allowed in a listing for the shop. A Feathered Nest scrapbook/journal is the name of the piece. Here are the pages of the book, it is created with backgrounds to give you a jumping off point for journaling or scrap-booking. Here are the front and back covers. I made this from an old dictionary who was sadly not useful anymore so I gave it a new life.

This piece gets a lot of looks but someone has yet to claim it for their own.

The Garden

I started decorating the garden now that spring is in full force...
I began with these items purchased at my local dollar store.

I played with the placement of the pieces to make a garden bird bath and a mushroom.

After staining parts of several pieces I fallowed directions and baked them for 40 min. and got finished pieces that are dishwasher safe and will hold the color outside. On the mushroom I used glass paint and let it dry 48 hours.  I played with placement again then glued the pieces and let it dry a few days. Then out they went to be part of the garden.

I have been doing little projects like these the last two weeks instead of working on my current altered book project. I also decided I needed to paint the furniture in my studio and move things around to make more storage.....because I needed another project.So I've been behind on my work for the shop. Thankfully I have other pieces which I can post to it that are already done and some pieces to re-post that have expired.
